Family Time

Avery has been a little out of sorts the past week, but we managed to have a brief moment as a family that was so sweet... so we had to document. Sitting on the couch, laughing and playing together. Avery loves her dad and loves to stand on his legs and push herself up.

Such a Big Girl!

Avery is growing so fast! She is doing great at sitting up, grabbing everything in sight (including my hair), she responds to her name, grabs her sippy cup and drinks (kind of) out of it, and has such a fun personality (most of the time!). My arms are getting much stronger from carrying her around too! Who needs the gym?!?

She loves grabbing my toes... no idea why. :) Pin It

I'm Tired

THIS IS MY LIFE... HA!

I am sitting in our living room right now listening to my daughter scream in her crib... it's been 34 minutes (and counting). I can say with honesty that I love and adore Avery... but the last 7 months have worn me out... to the bone. The last week has been exhausting and I'm just not sure what to do. A couple night ago I woke up to her crying six times in one night, she is militant against napping, she will scream for an hour instead of taking a nap, continual fussiness... that is a recipe for insanity if you ask me.

So, I guess I am writing this for a couple of reasons... one, is to ask for people to pray for us... I don't even know what to pray for, I feel like I have prayed for her to sleep or nap about a million times, so perhaps your prayers will be more effective. Another reason is to elicit any ideas... I know I am opening myself up to a lot of advice (some good and some just overwhelming), but I guess I am at the end of my rope. So, if you feel so inclined, leave a comment and let me know if you have any wisdom for me as a mom. I would greatly appreciate it.

I don't want this to cause too much concern... I just thought it might be refreshing to have some honesty about our reality right now. I'm sure this will pass... well, I'm sure it will pass at least when she graduates high school and leaves for college. So that's reassuring.

Thankful for you my family & friends. ~Rachel Pin It

Oh My!

Gosh! We are so blessed by our daughter. Tonight she was laughing so hard and I just couldn't keep my laughing with her. She was in the bathroom (half naked I might add) and she farted on the floor... which made a loud vibration on the linoleum. I just lost it. It was so funny and then she got tickled and we just laughed!

We are so taken by her beauty. When I read that God knits us together in our mother's wombs... I look at Avery and think, "He is a great knitter!" She is SO beautiful... and fun to look at.

Speaking of knitting... here is Avery sporting a hat that a friend of our family made for her. What a cutie! And look at those rosie cheeks!!!

So Excited!

When Avery gets excited she squeals and her whole body wiggles and shakes. It is SO funny.

What's really funny is that when she is in her exersaucer she is a total multi-tasker. She will be grabbing two separate things with her hands and sucking on one of her foam letters.

Jan 31st = 6 Months Old!

Weighing in at 20 POUNDS! Our daughter is a good eater. :) ha! She is 27 inches long now and is healthy. We are so grateful for her... she's made it half a year! (and so have we... which is perhaps just as monumental!)

Sweet Girl

Avery's personality has just blossomed this month and we have enjoyed her giggles, squeals, smiles, and watching her learn new things. She is sitting up, sticking absolutely everything in her mouth, and laughs when I wiggle my eyebrows. Here are a few of our favorite recent pics.

Father & Daughter Love

Avery lights up when she sees Brian. It is so fun to watch them together. She has a squeal that cracks us up. We both feel like this month has been a turning point in her personality really coming to life. What a joy she is!

And it is hilarious to watch Brian feed her... "aaaaahhhhhh" seems to so naturally come from his mouth. Pin It

First Foods

Our sweet daughter is a total chunk. We get such a kick out of her wrist rolls, chubby thighs, and cute belly. You would think we were starving our child! :) Well, we started her on solids about a month ago now and she loves it!

The first meal she kept grabbing the spoon and shoving it into her mouth. I had a hard time not laughing the whole time. This has been a fun new stage!

Brian was out of town for the first meal so I had to video a little for him... here it is... her first bites. My hand is totally in the way, but you get the point.
