It's A...
GIRL! We had our ultrasound and found out we are having another little girl. Avery is going to have a little sister, which we are really excited about. We are mostly excited that she is healthy and growing and that, so far, everything is going well. Pin It

Things That Make My Heart Melt
This morning I woke up to my precious daughter running into my room yelling "MOMMY MOMMY!" Avery ran right up to the bed and gave me a kiss. But here's what made my heart melt... Brian told me that when he went into her room to get her up, the first thing she said was,
"Mommy bess in hol world." (trans: mommy best in whole world)
"Mommy bess in hol world." (trans: mommy best in whole world)
Oh my. I have no idea if she even realized what she said, but I'll take it! That is a great way to start my day. I'll also add that after she gave me a kiss this morning she climbed up in bed with me and laid on me for a few minutes... doesn't happen too often and I loved it! I love you sweet girl.

Happy Halloween!
Avery was a CSU cheerleader for Halloween... the cutest one I've ever seen, that's for sure. She had a full day of fun, cake, and candy! She was in heaven. That morning, she had a birthday party for a friend (super fun... check out the pick of how Avery ate the birthday cake), then later that afternoon we went with my sister and kids to a carnival at her church, then topped it all off with trick-or-treating around our neighborhood to a few of our friends houses. It was a great day!
Here's the Birthday Girl... Happy 2nd Birthday Lacy!
Avery and her friend Kate... she LOVES Kate!
Avery and her future prom date Ben... she also LOVES Ben!
Who needs a fork, or hands, for that matter?
What a cute cheerleader! She kept yelling "Go RAMS!" it was awesome!
Avery, Malachi, & Rachel (her cousins) at the carnival... amazing we actually got this pic.
TRICK-or-TREAT! (Avery translation: Tick O Teat)

Playing In The Snow... IN OCTOBER!
We got DUMPED on last week with about 16 inches of snow and it was heaven! There's something about the quietness of fresh snow that slows life down (literally) and makes me want to curl up in a blanket, with a cup of hot chocolate, and read a book.... I actually got to do that! *You gotta try adding a little honey to your hot chocolate... wow! Pretty impressive for a mom of a 2 year old!
Here's our backyard
Avery also enjoyed the snow for the first time! We bundled her up and went sledding and built her first snowman. She LOVED it! And it was hilarious watching her try to walk and move around... she reminded us of the 'stay puff marshmallow man.' Although... a much cuter version!

Cool Shades
Avery doesn't typically keep sunglasses on very long, but we managed to snap a couple of cute pics while she was wearing her Dora shades. Pretty cute, don't you think?

Just Boots
So Avery has fallen in love with her snow boots and wants to wear them all the time.
Here is what happening this morning...
Avery was having some "room time" playing in her bedroom and I heard her start crying. When I opened her door I saw my daughter wearing her pajama top and snow boots... and that's all. I couldn't help but laugh.
She looked up at me and smiled. Then pointed to her underwear and pants on the floor... "Nundies mom!" (undies, mom)
Then she started laughing and just ran out of the room, bare butt and all, squealing with delight.
It was a great moment for a Monday! Pin It

Pumpkins!
Avery was totally excited to go the pumpkin patch this year and kept yelling "punkins!" She loved watching the farm animals and felt it her responsibility to yell out the name of every animal she saw... just making sure people knew what they were looking at... "PIG!" "SHEEP!" "DUCKS!" You get the picture. It was awesome.

Swiper No Swiping
Avery's new favorite thing is watching Dora the Explorer (I would say for me is a bit less annoying than Elmo, so that's nice). Avery actually looks a little like Dora :). She is totally glued to the show and is absorbing everything in it... characters, sayings, etc. So this was her dialogue with Brian this morning over breakfast (inspired by Dora... if you know anything about Dora, this will make perfect sense):
AVERY: [Eating her cereal] "Uh-oh!"
BRIAN: [Acting surprised] "What!"
AVERY: "I hear Swiper fox! That sneaky fox try to swipe my milk!"
BRIAN: "What do we say when we see Swiper?"
AVERY: "Swipy no swipy!" [slight pause] "Ohhh mann!"
Let me just say that she will have these little interactions ALL day long and at totally random moments. It is so so funny! We love watching her having these pretend moments." Pin It

Calling All Moms
I am sending this out to any moms because I need your wisdom and advice. Brian and I are feeling a bit nervous about switching Avery into a "big girl bed" and would love to pick your brain. Avery has not been the best of sleepers and her new favorite thing to do is have a little jumping party in her crib instead of taking naps... EXHAUSTING for me b/c it means I don't sleep either.
So... if you are reading this and you have ever had to switch kiddos from crib to bed, can you let us know anything that worked or didn't work for you. We are open to anything and just want to start thinking now so we have some ideas of what to do. AND... knowing that baby schultz #2 is on the way in April, we want to be wise in how we do this whole thing.
Thanks!
Now I am off to try to catch a few minutes of rest before Avery wakes up... yes, she is actually asleep today! PTL. Pin It

Little Artist
Avery and I went to her first ever art class. It was really just a time to get messy (and I didn't even have to clean it up!!! even better!) and have fun trying a bunch of different art mediums. She LOVED the paint best and we have lots of sheets of paper completely covered with gloppy paint. It was awesome! And she did so great.

Sticker Face
Avery loves to play with stickers and recently has had more fun putting them on her face than the paper... here's the result.

Due Date
Hello friends & family... thanks so much for the onslaught of emails, calls, and encouragement about the baby on the way. Sure do appreciate you! Many of you have asked some details about the pregnancy, etc. Here goes...
-We are due on April 18th (and hoping to not go 12 days pass that like I did with Avery!!!)
-I've been feeling pretty lousy this past week, sleeping terribly, SO exhausted, and pretty sick to my stomach... all of which is not so fun to feel while chasing around a 2 year old who is full of energy!
-This pregnancy does feel different solely because it wasn't a surprise like Avery was and that has been refreshing to feel excited.
If you think of it, would you pray that the nausea would pass (it never did with Avery, so I am a little nervous of 7 more months of this)? And also pray for Avery in the transition to having another little one who will steal some attention away from her. Thanks!
So, there you go... I will try to keep you all informed with how things are going. Thanks again for all of your sweet words! Pin It

Butterfly Pavilion
A few weeks ago, Andrea and I took the kiddos down to the Butterfly Pavilion... SO not worthy the money!!! It was actually kind of a dump, but Avery did LOVE watching all the butterflies going EVERYWHERE! Malachi and Rachel screamed for most of the time there (I will confess that it was a little freaky at times being dive-bombed by hundreds of flying creatures).
A butterfly on Avery's back... pretty cool.
"Hi Butterfly!"
Here's little Rachel clinging to her momma's hand b/c she was SCREAMING!

Happy Birthday Avery!
JULY 31st... HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY SWEET GIRL!
Getting the paper with dad on her birthday... a daily ritual.
Avery had the biggest eyes when she saw this huge Elmo & a huge Cookie Monster inside!
Pin the nose on Elmo... Emma won this game!
The pullstring pinata was a little anti-climatic with no candy coming out!
Which made the boys in the group excited to beat the pinata silly... it was hilarious!
Avery & Grandma... say "CHEESE!"
This was Avery's big present... a play kitchen... I think the other kids played with it more that day than she did! :)
Our tongues were beet red after eating that Elmo cake!!!
She LOVED the cake!
All things Sesame Street for Avery's 2nd birthday and it was a total blast! She did great and loved watching people. Her sweet friends blessed her so much. Pin It
