And The Crackers

I know I just posted a bit about the girls, but I have to share this really quick story about something Avery said to Brian earlier this week.  We have been doing an advent to get ready for Easter... everyday reading some portion of Scripture that talks about the days leading up to Jesus' death and resurrection.  It's been pretty cool.

Well, the other day, the picture on our advent was a cup of wine and bread.  Here's how it went...
Brian:  "Avery, do you want to read our Easter advent right now?"
Avery:  "DAD!  I know what this is!"
Brian:  "What is it?"
Avery:  "That's Jesus' blood and the crackers!"

Beautiful Avery Joy

And here is Avery... you got an update on Madi and here is her big sister.
Avery... who thinks she is Madi's mom most days
Avery... who thinks that when she turns 5 that means she will go to school and lose a tooth
Avery... who has the most tender heart and experiences emotions very deeply
Avery... who LOVES to love people
Avery... who is a natural encourager of others
Avery... who has her father's lungs and demonstrates that by screaming on occasion
Avery... who is learning how to read... one of my very favorite things to do is watch and listen to her read!  How cool is that?

Avery and I are very much alike, and I think she is awesome!

Some of Brian's guys that are Avery's best buds... they played Pretty Pretty Princess together.  Avery won.

Avery really wanted me to paint her face today... so I did.

Sweet Madi Hope

In efforts to update you all here are some snapshots of our sweet little Madison Hope...

a girl who loves to perform, has an impressive sense of humor, smiles a lot, loves to cuddle, marches to the beat of her own drum, is tough as nails (thanks to her sister), loves to sing, is smart as a whip, and has stolen our hearts completely.

She is also talking like it's nobodies business.  Here are some "Madi words" for your reading pleasure:
"Slap" - translation: Lap, as in, "can I sit on your lap?"
"Paypoo" - translation:  Paper
"Milky" - translation:  Milk (we hear this one often)
"Madi's tooon" - translation:  "Madi's turn!"
"Aiya" - translation:  All done
"Caiya" - translation:  Color (aka. give me crayons, now!)
"Hode you" - translation:  Pick me up... now.

Having two girls both of whom have large quantities of hair, we get some pretty awesome bedhead going on.  For example...
